Along with reconfiguring closets and walls, this customer’s 1950 Alexandria home is also getting a new master bath. The crew demoed this one so quick and clean that I did’t get a photo of the 3500 pounds of concrete that was removed. During the process of expanding one of the closets I did get a great shot of the back of a current shower stall. Take a close look and you’ll see the back side of the lathe that is packed full of concrete. This is a great illustration of why these spaces are more difficult and expensive to work in. One thing is for sure, this is back breaking work that requires a certain skill set. Hands strong enough to do the work and experience enough not to tear down the entire house in the process. Denny and Gardner lead man Jason Newton is seeing that all aspects of this job get done right the first time.
The recent stretch of clear weather has helped bring about some serious progress on our Reston project. Now that we are under roof and all wrapped up the trim work is beginning. Stay tuned for the interior portion of this amazing transformation.
